Nestled just northeast of 40 Hwy and 7 Hwy in Blue Springs, Missouri, resides a small retirement community. The community, made up of many outgoing and energetic elder, enjoys the outdoors and spending time with their neighbors was unfortunately experiencing excessive wood rot and paint failure on one of their streets. Therefore, this spring Major Painting was contracted by the community's HOA to address the wood rot issues and to repaint the homes.

In the Spring of 2016, Kansas City's Commercial Repaint Specialist, Major Painting, executed the project. With 11 homes, each home presented its own challenges.
Major's first priority was to get the team of carpenters out in front of the painters. After the carpentry team had successfully replaced all areas of rot on the first four homes, it was then time to let the painters get to work. In total, over 100 sheets of siding were replaced, 75 areas of trim were replaced, and many miscellaneous bird boxes and soffits were repaired.
After the carpenters, came the painters. The painting process was simple, powerwash, scrape, caulk, and spot prime, then paint. On average, the homes were being completed every two and half to three days using 10 gallons of body paint and 1 gallon of trim paint, therefore approximately 125 gallons of Sherwin Williams SuperPaint was used to complete the job. Five colors were used in order to create four different color schemes: Dark Grey with white trim, Light Grey with white trim, White with Light Grey trim, and Brown with tan trim.
The project was completed in just under a month in order to minimize disturbance to the homeowners. All in all, the project ran accordingly and most importantly under budget for the HOA, making everyone happy!
